[log] flow for years or centuries
[00:29] * Candice comes meandering in /early/ in the morning, with a sweatshirt and jeans on. She is not sure how long the sweatshirt will be remaining on, though, because she has a tank top underneath and it's also way too big for her.
[00:37] * Martel is already there, as he occasionally is, although this time he's actually been there for a while and has dozed off.
[00:39] * Candice nudges him with her knee on her way passing by. "We have a bed, you know."
[00:40] * Martel starts, and ... reacts about how you'd expect him to react started awake, but he does rein himself in pretty well and pretty fast. /Almost/ fast enough to miss it. "...I know."
[00:44] Candice: "It was a little disappointing to wake up with you not in it," she informs him, perching on the arm of his chair (or sofa, or what have you). "Are you very tired?"
[00:45] Martel: "No. Well, not any more." He's a little wry. "Did you miss me?"
[00:46] Candice: "Of course." She smiles at him.
[00:48] Martel: "Good." ...yes. "I continue to startle people in the nexus, evidently. How are you this morning?"
[00:53] Candice: "Not bad," she shrugs, tugging her sweatshirt over her head, "Eirene keeps nagging me about my weight. She thinks I need to eat more."
[00:56] * Martel pulls her down into his lap, because there are some ways in which he actually is a little predictable. "Does she? -I talked to her, finally, did I tell you?"
[00:56] * Candice is, in fairness, a hundred pounds soaking wet but she's also 5'2" or so. "No, you didn't." Also: not surprised at being in Martel's lap.
[00:57] Martel: "The day she took off was after." Well, the day Martel told her to take off.
[00:58] Candice: "Ah. I might've guessed. Is she all right?" Candice leans on him, because he's gigantic.
[00:59] Martel: "She cried, and she thinks we're cursed."
[01:00] Candice: "So that'd be a no, then. I'll talk to her." She kisses him, because she hasn't yet.
[01:03] * Martel approves of this. "I'm assured by Master Snape it's no curse."
[01:03] Candice: "I don't think it is either, no. I'm glad you spoke with her."
[01:05] Martel: "Mm. I ran into a friend of Maria's gentleman's, who evidently knows a dead man of her own - I wonder if the nexus is so full of us, if I'm merely lucky."
[01:06] Candice: "Lucky. How do you mean?"
[01:07] Martel: "Facetiously."
[01:07] Candice: "No luck whatsoever?" Candice teases, lightly.
[01:08] Martel: "Just a little."
[01:14] * Candice kisses him again, impulsively, and then adds: "I was thinking of something. I'm not sure if we want to go there yet, but...you know we'll have to have two ceremonies."
[01:15] Martel: "A wedding per world," Martel agrees, glancing at him. "Not everyone can attend both. Did you have a thought in mind?"
[01:16] Candice: "A house, maybe, per world?" Candice tries, almost-timidly.
[01:21] * Martel considers that, warily interested. "It'd make a number of things simpler."
[01:22] Candice: "I have some money saved up. Not a huge amount, but enough for a down payment somewhere, I think." She bites her bottom lip, thinking.
[01:22] Martel: "There's a bank in the nexus that converts currency." ...he's just saying.
[01:25] Candice: "That'd help," she admits, "But I feel like--is it fair, to want to live off your money? I don't want to take advantage..." She is /so weird/.
[01:25] Martel: "You realize who you're asking this of."
[01:27] Candice: "I hope so, unless I'm sitting in an alternate's lap."
[01:27] Martel: "I think you'd be able to tell the difference, somehow."
[01:29] Candice: "I certainly hope so. I don't really think I'd want to sit in anyone else's lap." She nudges him again.
[01:31] Martel: "I don't see how it'd be /unfair/, I suppose, is my point." Intellectually, yes, he's been made aware of enough to follow the logic.
[02:08] Candice: "I want to contribute to the household," she shrugs, thoughtful.
[02:11] Martel: "Certainly. But not using resources we do have seems foolish to me."
[02:15] Candice: "You're right, of course. I'm just being--" She wrinkles her nose and laughs a little. "My neurotic self. Sorry."
[02:18] * Martel kisses her, lightly. "If we find somewhere suitable," he says, speculative, "we could have the other ceremony on that property, as well."
[02:19] Candice: "That'd be nice." She drapes her arms around him, smiling. "I'm excited. I know it's far off, but...I think I'm finally almost-used to the idea."
[02:25] Martel: "Good," he says, wryly, "because I'd hate for you to change your mind when you notice how much /one/ wedding takes to plan, much less two."
[02:28] Candice: "...oh, Lord. Can't we just bring everyone to one place with a priest?" She presses her face into his neck, pouting.
[02:30] Martel: "Absolutely not."
[02:31] Candice: "Why not?" Candice, kissing his neck is cheating.
[02:32] Martel: "Your family will feel cheated." Martel, not properly having one who would really give a damn and having already been dead set on this, may want to find another reason.
[02:34] Candice: "What if we eloped?" BITING.
[02:40] Martel: "I suppose we could elope, but some sort of party would still be expected-"
[02:40] * Martel should keep his hands out of her clothes in the damn bar.
[02:42] * Candice is pretty much just encouraging this. "Martel, I have to confess something. You're marrying a hermit. Given the opportunity I will sit on your lap in the study and read a book all day and not have any parties at all ever. I am, in fact, bad at parties. I hope you'll forgive me."
[02:43] Martel: "You're aware I'm having the entire grounds and castle warded to be hidden." He pauses, suddenly thoughtful. "I'll have to see about having him take care of the other house, too, when we have it - though I suppose we shouldn't hide a full property in your world-"
[02:45] Candice: "My parents may want to visit it eventually, there is that, too. And my sisters and brother." Not 'brothers,' sometimes she forgets about that. "It's not likely, but they might."
[02:48] Martel: "Why isn't it likely?" ...well, she doesn't talk about them often, he doesn't /know/.
[02:50] Candice: "They weren't happy when I stopped being a good Catholic girl." She shrugs. "They're my family, but...I'm happy to be starting one with you instead."
[02:52] Martel: "We'll need plenty of space, if they're to visit, then." This is partially just Martel angling to buy something that suits his inclinations towards the impressive, and partly practicality; it doesn't sound like having her family in their pocket would be great fun.
[02:53] Candice: "Probably. And--for future things."
[02:53] Martel: "/Our/ family."
[02:54] Candice: "Yes. When we decide we want that." She kisses his cheek. "How many do you want, anyway?"
[02:55] Martel: "...a few." >_>
[02:56] Candice: "How many is a few?" She's almost laughing. "I'm one of five, you aren't going to shock me."
[02:57] Martel: "I don't know," Martel says, letting amusement bleed through at the way she's not quite laughing, "A few. Several. More than three."
[03:01] Candice: "More than three! You're going to have me in bed a lot." Because he's so chaste normally.
[03:04] Martel: "Don't I always?"
[03:05] Candice: "True. But I'll get all huge and pregnant! And you'd have to take care of me again, remember what a pain that was when my ribs were broken?"
[03:06] Martel: "Your ribs won't be broken this time."
[03:08] Candice: "Well, I hope not. I'm not sure whether I'd be able to work, either." Noooooo.
[03:08] Martel: "You wouldn't." Marvel at how that's totally not any kind of question.
[03:09] * Candice looks at him sidelong, debating whether she wants to argue this and if it's feasibly something she can win. Probably not.
[03:10] * Martel gazes levelly back at her. :]
[03:10] Candice: "I'd be in the tower if I tried, wouldn't I."
[03:10] Martel: "It would be most convenient. I'm taking a tower for my study."
[03:11] Candice: "I really don't want to be locked in a tower."
[03:11] Martel: "Well, then."
[03:12] Candice: "'Sir, yes, sir'?" She asks, dry but smiling.
[03:12] Martel: "You could work /afterwards/."
[03:13] Candice: "I certainly hope so! But then there's childcare to consider, and I have a hunch you'll be more protective after I've had your children, not less."
[03:16] Martel: "We won't have a lack for childcare besides ourselves...and depending on how far away this is..." Martel looks speculative.
[03:29] Candice: "You're very cute when you're plotting."
[03:32] Martel: "..."
[03:32] Martel: "...pardon?"
[03:32] * Candice laughs into his neck.
[03:34] * Martel pinches her.
[03:38] Candice: "Ow," she says, indignantly, "You shouldn't do that to someone who loves you. Very unfair."
[03:43] * Martel pauses, still.
[03:43] Martel: "Well, we've been over what I'll do to people who love me," he said, instead, and kissed her shoulder. Because this is the appropriate way to respond there.
[03:50] * Candice ...pauses her own self. REALLY, Martel?
[03:51] * Martel sinks his teeth into her neck by means of distraction.
[04:08] * Candice inhales sharply, and leans on him. "We're in the bar," she reminds him.
[04:09] Martel: "You did start it."
[04:14] Candice: "And youuu're...what, finishing it?"
[04:14] Martel: "Not in the bar," he says, mildly.
[04:20] Candice: "Good, because I do think that's one circumstance in which I can resist you. At least one."
